ResetKit Is Free for Students
Short version: if you have a .edu email, ResetKit's Starter plan is free. Not a trial, not a discount code. Free, for as long as you have the account.
How it works
Sign up with your school email address. That's it. If the address ends in .edu, your account lands on Starter automatically: 10 connections, the full password reset, 2FA, magic link, and webhook stack, no 14-day trial countdown and no credit card.
Your billing page will just say Starter (Student) at $0. There's nothing to configure and nothing to cancel later.
Why
I'm a student. I built ResetKit while in school, and a lot of the projects that need real auth flows are student projects: class assignments, hackathon builds, the side project you're hoping turns into something. Those projects shouldn't have to pay for password reset and 2FA, even at a dollar a month. So they don't.
We gate on .edu specifically because it's a restricted domain. Only accredited institutions can register one, which means it's a signal that's actually hard to fake. If you're at a school outside the US on a different domain, email support@resetkit.dev and we'll sort it out manually.
Some cleanup we shipped with this
While we were in there:
- Pricing page was underselling the plans. Starter is 10 connections, Growth is 50. The site was showing 3 and 10, which is what the backend has been giving people the whole time. Marketing copy is now telling the truth.
- The FAQ said we don't take crypto. We do. BTC, ETH, and SOL, verified on-chain. Fixed.
- Signup now says the student thing up front, so nobody finds out after the fact.
- Cleared out some debug logging that was spamming our production logs on every request.
If you're a student and something about this doesn't work the way this post says it does, email support@resetkit.dev. That address is real now, and it's read.
