We're Back Up: What Happened and What We Fixed

If you tried to reach ResetKit recently and got nothing back, that was real, and it's resolved. Here's what happened, in plain terms.

What happened

Our hosting provider, Railway, paused deployments due to a billing issue on our end. That took the API down, which meant password reset codes, 2FA, and the dashboard were all unreachable while it was sorted out. No customer data was at risk; this was a hosting/billing problem, not a security incident.

What's fixed

Billing is resolved and the service is back up and serving traffic normally. While we had eyes on the infrastructure, we also went through and fixed several things that make the platform more resilient going forward:

  • A single point of failure in email delivery is gone. If our email provider ever has a bad moment, delivery now falls back automatically instead of failing outright.
  • Signup no longer breaks if a verification email fails to send. Your account is created either way, and you can always request a new verification email.
  • Mobile and iPad rendering issues are fixed across the marketing site, login, and signup pages. No more "have to zoom out" on phones.
  • Real Stripe subscription plans, not just crypto payments, so upgrading or downgrading is a normal checkout flow.

What we're watching

We take uptime seriously. ResetKit exists so your auth flows don't go down, so it matters even more that ours doesn't. We're keeping a closer eye on billing/infra alerts going forward so this class of issue gets caught before it affects anyone.

Thanks for bearing with us. If you're still seeing anything odd, reach out and we'll dig in.
