Put ResetKit on Your Home Screen

There is no ResetKit app to install, and there does not need to be. The dashboard works in any browser, and every modern browser can pin a website to your home screen or dock so it opens with one tap, with its own icon, and without the address bar.

This takes about twenty seconds. Here is how, browser by browser.

iPhone and iPad

Safari

  1. Open resetkit.dev in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button. It is the square with an arrow pointing up, at the bottom of the screen on iPhone and at the top on iPad.
  3. Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Leave the name as ResetKit, or change it, then tap Add.

Chrome, Edge or Firefox on iPhone

  1. Open resetkit.dev.
  2. Tap the Share button, or the three dots menu, depending on the browser.
  3. Tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.

Either way the icon lands on your home screen alongside your other apps. Tapping it opens ResetKit full screen.

Android

Chrome

  1. Open resetkit.dev in Chrome.
  2. Tap the three dots in the top right.
  3. Tap Add to Home screen. On some versions this says Install app instead. Both do the same thing.
  4. Tap Add or Install.

Samsung Internet

  1. Open resetkit.dev.
  2. Tap the three lines menu at the bottom right.
  3. Tap Add page to, then Home screen.

Firefox

  1. Open resetkit.dev.
  2. Tap the three dots menu.
  3. Tap Add to Home screen, then Add.

Mac

Safari

  1. Open resetkit.dev in Safari.
  2. From the menu bar choose File, then Add to Dock.
  3. Click Add.

ResetKit then sits in your Dock and opens in its own window. This needs a recent version of macOS; if you do not see the option, use Chrome below.

Chrome or Edge

  1. Open resetkit.dev.
  2. Look at the right end of the address bar for a small install icon, a monitor with a downward arrow. Click it and choose Install.
  3. If the icon is not there, open the three dots menu, then Cast, save and share, then Install page as app.

Windows

Chrome or Edge

  1. Open resetkit.dev.
  2. Click the install icon at the right end of the address bar and choose Install.
  3. If you do not see it, open the three dots menu. In Chrome it is under Cast, save and share, then Install page as app. In Edge it is under Apps, then Install this site as an app.

The shortcut appears in your Start menu and can be pinned to the taskbar like anything else.

What you get

A ResetKit icon, the real one, not a screenshot of the page. The dashboard opens in its own window without browser tabs and toolbars. On a phone it fills the screen.

You are still signed in the same way, and everything is still the live site. There is nothing separate to update, and if you remove the shortcut nothing about your account changes.

If something looks wrong

Menus move around between browser versions, so if a step above does not match what you see, the option is almost always under the share button on a phone and under the address bar or three dots menu on a desktop.

If the icon comes out as a blank square or a page snapshot rather than the ResetKit mark, that is a caching quirk: remove the shortcut, reload the site once, and add it again.

Anything else, write to support@resetkit.dev.
